At Seeed Studio, we strive to make your product ideas come to life seamlessly through our comprehensive Original Design Manufacturing (ODM) services. Our process is designed to guide you from the initial concept stage right through to the final product delivery while ensuring quality, transparency, and customization at every step.
Inquiry & Quotation (Concept Phase)
This initial stage sets the foundation for the project. We begin by signing NDAs, understanding your project requirements, and providing preliminary quotations. Our team then engages with you to clarify details and prepare an initial agreement to kick off the partnership.
Design Verification (Engineering Sample Phase)
Once the project is underway, we move into design verification. This phase includes detailed product design tailored for manufacturing and testing. We develop quick prototypes which undergo prototype testing. The goal here is to create a robust engineering sample that adheres to your required specifications.
Finalize Design (Golden Sample Phase)
In this step, the design undergoes thorough verification, sample build, and extensive sample testing. This golden sample represents the refined and validated version of your product, incorporating feedback and improvements from previous stages.
Pilot Run (New Product Introduction – NPI)
This phase means the product has entered into the manufacturing environment with a focus on quality control, manufacturing progress, certification preparation, and logistics management. It ensures everything is in place for scaling production.
Life-cycle Management (Mass Production)
Mass production marks the stage where your product is produced at scale. Here, we optimize yield management, supply chain operations, and traceability through batch controls to maintain consistent quality and efficiency. This phase also includes ongoing product support until the end of life cycle.

What’s included in the One-stop Customization Service?
Seeed Studio provides a wide range of integrated services covering every aspect of product development and manufacturing, ensuring a smooth and efficient ODM process:
Program and Test
At this stage, we work closely with you to define the testing requirements that ensure your product performs flawlessly. This includes function description, program file development, test plan, and comprehensive testing support to verify that all features meet your expectations.
Electronic Components and PCB Assembly
We conduct a global source for suitable electronic parts and alternative components, aiming to optimize production costs without compromising quality. This involves management of Bill of Materials (BOM), sourcing electronic parts, PCB design specifications, component layout planning, and advanced PCB assembly techniques such as surface mounting and wave soldering.
Mechanical Parts and Product Assembly
Our mechanical design and assembly services leverage advanced manufacturing technologies like 3D printing, CNC machining, and precise wire cutting. This phase covers enclosure molding, part drawing, and final product assembly through both manual and automated processes, ensuring your product is robust and reliable.
Packaging, Shipment, and Certification
To guarantee your product reaches customers safely and complies with international standards, we provide comprehensive packaging design and reliability testing. Additionally, we handle shipping logistics and certification services – including CE, FCC, UL, CCC, etc – tailored to your target markets.

Key Deliverables and Tasks in ODM Projects
Our structured approach clearly defines what we deliver and the tasks involved at each phase of the ODM project:
- Engineering Validation Test (EVT): We provide PCBA samples, initial firmware, and detailed testing reports supported by hardware and software design reviews.
- Design Validation Test (DVT): Updated samples and firmware, prototype building, and rigorous EMI, EMC, and reliability testing.
- New Product Introduction (NPI): Manufacturing test reports, final firmware, and certification documents are prepared alongside functional tests and initial sample inspections.
- Mass Production (MP): High-volume production management with stringent quality control, batch production oversight, and yield optimization.
